MARIONETTE To Replace DEAD BY APRIL At Sweden's METALTOWN Festival
June 27, 2008Swedish metal sextet MARIONETTE will replace DEAD BY APRIL on the billing of the Metaltown festival tomorrow evening (June 28) in Gothenburg, Sweden. MARIONETTE will perform at 17.20 (5:20 p.m.) on the Close-Up stage. Also set to appear tomorrow evening are IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, CLUTCH, CONVERGE, DARK TRANQUILLITY, AMON AMARTH, SOILWORK, SATYRICON, FINNTROLL and many others.
Commented MARIONETTE bassist Mikael Mendin: "We are quite excited to have the opportunity to play tomorrow at Metaltown. We hope that everyone who is ready to rock out will join us at the Close-Up Stage for plenty of moshing and headbanging." He added, "We have tons of other plans for the summer and fall including some festivals in Sweden and lots of touring! We cannot reveal our plans at the moment, but when the time comes we will spread the news like wildfire!"
MARIONETTE's debut album, "Spite", was released in Europe on April 28 via Listenable Records. The CD was recorded with producers Simon Exner and two-time Swedish Grammis award winner ke Parmerud in Bors, Sweden. "Spite" was mixed and mastered by Christian Silver at Studio Mega (SONIC SYNDICATE, BY NIGHT) in Varberg, Sweden.
"Burn Me", the new video from MARIONETTE, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed in December 2007 at Meeths in Gothenburg with Robert Karlsson, who works with acclaimed Swedish video director Patrick Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR).
